Welcome to Elizabeth East Primary School

Our school is a small metropolitan school located approximately 27km north of the Adelaide CBD just off Midway Road.

Our school supports the local community and surrounding areas by offering 2 dedicated special needs classrooms as well as 8 well-resourced mainstream classes.

Elizabeth East Primary School lives the values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. These values are used to support student development across all aspects of their learning journey as well as inform school priorities and direction.

At Elizabeth East Primary School we cater for students from Reception (5 year olds) through to year 6 (approximately 12 year olds). Elizabeth East Primary School offers a number of world class innovations including state of the art IT equipment, well-resourced library and classrooms, an onsite canteen, and large open spaces to play. Our school focuses on literacy across all year levels as we acknowledge that literacy is the fundamental skill required for students to engage socially, emotionally and with their future education.

Literacy is taught through a reading and oral language program called “Read, Write INC”. This program supports students with “breaking the code” of reading, supports oral language development while allowing our learners to progress at their own pace.

We have a very active governing council. This team of dedicated parents and community members are involved in all aspects of the schools progress, financial application and future planning. The Governing Council actively supports the school community by hosting social events and school based celebrations.

Our school also hosts a Building Better Connections (BBC) centre. This team supports students from around the area to make more positive behavioural choices. The students who attend this facility are from primary schools within the greater Elizabeth area.

Our subject choices cover all Australian Curriculum options while also maintaining a genuine focus on the arts. This includes an offer of Instrumental music lessons for our upper primary students, Choir for years 5 to 6 as well as an exceptional Visual Arts program. Physical Education (PE) and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden lessons ensure we have a holistic school program.

Elizabeth East Primary will host Musica Viva for 2019, 2020 and 2021. These music lessons are held weekly for all middle primary students. Whole class lessons are provided to allow students to practice the art of reading music, voice training, and percussion tuition as well as music appreciation. We also have Musica Viva supporting a small group of students with Guitar tuition. Choir is offered for all 5 and 6 students. This culminates in a group choir session at the Festival Theatre later in the year. Our upper primary students also have the chance to play a woodwind or brass instrument with the Instrumental Music teachers making small group lessons available each week.
